"A job well done..." These wonderful Communication Disorders Graduate Clinicians did an awesome job providing free speech and language evaluations and hearing screens to children and adolescents in the Bahamas.
Four Howard University, Washington, D.C students from the Communication Sciences & Disorders Department traveled to the Bahamas during their Christmas break to volunteer speech and language services to children and adolescents across the Island.
Over the course of seven days, these young women provided over 30 hearing screens, speech and language evaluations, integrated therapy within classrooms and consultations with special educators.
In addition, these dynamic ladies provided a free two hour workshop on Communication Disorders: What it is, What to expect, Red Flags and Tips and Techniques.
Their help was greatly appreciated and the CSD Abroad trip was an overall success!
We look forward to our next trip this Summer 2014.
